Water, built from the ground up.
A grassroots initiative connecting people across borders with communities in Sokoto, Nigeria, to help expand access to clean drinking water.
It started with a conversation.
In 2020, when I was nineteen, I met a Nigerian doctor who was completing his orthopedic surgery residency in Europe.
We spoke about the water crisis in Nigeria and my long-standing desire to help. I had always assumed that meaningful water projects required large amounts of money.
He told me otherwise.
A well could be built for roughly $1,000 .So I decided to try something simple: bring together people who were willing to contribute and see what we could accomplish collectively.
The first projects followed. At that stage, the focus was straightforward: raise the money, build the well, and get water to the community.
It grew one conversation at a time.
The initiative did not begin with a fundraising campaign or a large organization. I spoke about the work with people I met. Some wanted to contribute. Over time, individual donors became small groups, and those groups continued to grow.
Today, groups of individual donors are organized geographically, with trusted representatives coordinating communication and contributions across Europe and Asia.

COMMUNITIES ARE IDENTIFIED
We identify communities where access to clean, reliable water is urgently needed.
NETWORKS MOBILIZED
Once a community has been identified, we mobilize one of our trusted donor networks to support the project and bring the resources needed to make it happen.
PROJECTS ARE FUNDED
Contributions are pooled toward a specific water project.
LOCAL LABOR BUILDS
Construction is carried out locally, using practical approaches suited to the community and its surroundings.
THE PROCESS IS DOCUMENTED
From the beginning of construction to the moment water is reached, photographs and videos document the work.
THE WELLS ARE MONITORED
The wells' operational status is monitored for as long as our grassroots organization exists. We remain connected to the communities we serve and available to support repairs whenever they are needed.
